This
apron is based around a vintage style from the 1920s. I drew the
pattern pieces out by hand using the traditional method of pen and
string. It was a bit like joining the dots! The original pattern came
out very large in the body so I adapted it for a modern twirl!

The
shape of the frill was inspired by a left over piece of fabric I had
from a previous project. It was forming a quirky wavy shape and
screaming out to become the basis of a flirty frill.

pattern. This style suits a voluptuous
figure and is perfect for showing off those curves.

original design had a high waisted bib. This is the modernized version
of the original with kangaroo pockets. I made it in pink, blue and red.

This
is the first in the series of 'Bessie...Bride To Be' Aprons. It was inspired by a pattern from the early 1950s. The original pattern had a Spanish feel but I thought the frills reminded me of a wedding dress and would make a great gift for a bride to be. I added a detachable blue corsage to finish off the theme.
This apron is based on a 1920's design. As you can see it folds into itself to form a decorative pouch. I made only one apron like this.

This is the second in the series of 'Bessie...Bride To Be' Aprons. I decided to contrast the ivory with wine colour satin edging as it complimented the hues of the corsage nicely. The corsage is detachable.
